North Woods Art Tour and Covid-19
Individual studios on the North Woods Art Tour will be making their own decisions regarding how best to adapt their spaces and open safely during each tour. If needed, detailed information will be on the artists’ individual pages.
All members will be complying with current recommended guidelines such as mask wearing, social distancing, and edicts of local authorities.
Thirty-eight of northern Wisconsin’s finest artists will participate in the 2021 Summer and Fall North Woods Art Tours—opening the doors of their studios and galleries to the public on July 23-24-25 and October 8-9-10 from 10am-5pm daily. The tour is free and self-guided.

Awaken Your Sense of Wonder and explore some of the Northwood’s most beautiful backroads. Travel through the charming, friendly, small communities of Iron, Vilas, Oneida, and Lincoln counties. Visit artists’ private studios seldom open to the public.
Enjoy a behind-the-scenes view of where and how artists create work in all media. Delight in paintings and drawings, and works created in clay, fiber, wood, gourds, glass, photography, and designer jewelry in precious metals, and unique combinations of many media.
Elude The Ordinary and Embrace The Original The tour is an unusual opportunity to experience first-hand how, where and why artists create. Each artist will be demonstrating aspects of their working process, what materials they use and how they approach the creative process. You may find yourself inspired to forgo the mass-produced and collect the one-of-a- kind to enrich your home or as special gifts.
Enjoy It Your Way. Create your own custom experience. Visit as many or as few studios as your interest and time allow. The tour is organized into 36 unique sites. You are free to come and go as you wish.
Often art is created in quiet and solitude. The artists of the North Woods Art Tour look forward to meeting you and sharing their new work and stories. We look forward each year to answering questions, sharing our ideas about art and art-making, connecting with old friends and making new ones.
“Many of us who do not live in the area try to schedule our visits to the North Woods to coincide with the Art Tour. If this isn’t a testament to a quality experience then I don’t know quality ! Al
